We are off and running with the first 50th Surprise party under our belts for 2011. I was lucky enough to host a big bash for one of my BFF’s (Best Friend @ Fifty) this past weekend.
I have at least half a dozen wonderful friends turning 50 this year along with me. It is going to be a fun ride.
Ten years ago we all enjoyed a great year of festivities as we turned 40. I wish I had known what a great decade 40 to 50 was going to be. I would have celebrated at those parties even more.
Forty zoomed by as we went from the crazed days of raising teenagers to the empty nest.
Life changed.
Now I turn to another decade of life. I am going to celebrate it all year long based on the assumption that it will be another banner era in my life. Optimism reigns.
What will this one have to offer? It feels a little scary to imagine being another ten years older. However, I will choose to be excited about what this decade will bring.
I look forward to the adult relationships we have developed with our sons & watching them start their own families. Having more time to spend with my husband and best friend. Keeping healthy & active. And of course, more celebrations with family and friends!
What are you looking forward to over the next decade?

Let's get on with it. Cheers!
